2021 Yamaha Fascino 125 Hybrid, Ray ZR 125 Hybrid Unveiled – Key Changes

The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer today introduced the new Yamaha FZ-X retro-styled motorcycle in India at Rs 1.17 lakh (ex-showroom). Alongside, the company unveiled the new 2021 Yamaha Fascino 125 Hybrid and Ray ZR 125 Hybrid scooters with hybrid power assist technology and some additional features. Prices of both models are likely to be announced in coming weeks. Talking about the 2021 Yamaha Fascino hybrid, the scooter comes powered by a BS6-compliant 125cc fuel injected motor benefited with ‘Hybrid Power Assist’.

The updated motor delivers a top power of 8.6bhp and 10.3Nm of torque, thus making it slightly torqueier (0.6Nm) than the old unit. The power output, however, remains unchanged. In fact, the scooter is claimed to offer 16% better fuel efficiency than the previous model. No changes have been made to its suspension and braking mechanism.

2021 Yamaha Fascino Hybrid

 The 2021 Yamaha Fascino hybrid uses the same telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. The stopping power comes from the front disc and rear drum brakes, which are further supported by the standard CBS (Combi braking system).

One of the major changes come in the form of the full LED headlamp with DRLs and taillamp. The scooter also gets digital instrument cluster with an optional Bluetooth connectivity, side stand engine cut off feature and an optional USB charger. There is a new Matt Black colour scheme with golden wheels. Similar to the previous model lineup, the 2021 Yamaha Fascino will be offered in two variants – Standard and Delux.

2021 Yamaha RayZR Hybrid

Similar to the updated Fascino hybrid, the 2021 Yamaha Ray ZR 125 has hybrid power assisted boosted engine. Its power and torque figures are yet to be revealed. The scooter receives LED headlamp, a new instrument console, USB charging port and Bluetooth connectivity. It will continue to come in Standard and Street Rally variants.
