Yamaha FZ-X 150cc Motorcycle Launch Price Is Rs 1.17 Lakh

The much-awaited Yamaha’s new retro-styled motorcycle, called the Yamaha FZ-X has finally been launched in the Indian market today. It is based on the brand’s FZS V3 platform, while the design is inspired by the XSR 155. The new model sits above the existing FZ naked series, and is priced at Rs 1.17 lakh. The accessorised version of the FZ-X is priced at Rs 1.20 lakh.

Yamaha dealers have also started accepting bookings for the FZ-X retro-styled motorcycle at an initial token amount of Rs 1,000 to 5,000. The new FZ-X joins Yamaha’s existing 150cc motorcycle range, which comprises of FZ, R15 and MT15. With the new motorcycle, Yamaha want to further strengthen its position in the highly competitive 150cc-200cc segment.

Dimensionally, the new Yamaha FZ-X is 30mm longer, 4mm wider and 35mm taller than the FZ FI. It measures 2,020mm in length, 785mm in width and 1,115mm in height. The motorcycle has a wheelbase of 1,330mm, which is similar to the FZ15. Color options include – Matte Blue, Matte Black and Matte Cooper.

The new Yamaha FZ-X is propelled by a 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that also powers the FZ FI series. This engine is capable of producing a maximum power output of 12bhp at 7,250rpm and a peak torque of 13.3Nm at 5,500rpm. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox.

Not just engine and platform, the FZ-X shares the suspension mechanism and braking system with the FZ FI. The suspension mechanism comprises of conventional telescopic front forks and 7-step adjustable monocross at the rear. For braking, the bike gets a 282mm front and 220mm rear disc brakes. Adding to it, the motorcycle comes with a single-channel ABS system as standard.

The motorcycle’s design is inspired by the XSR155, which is on sale in Southeast Asia. It comes equipped with fork gaiters, box-style fuel tank, flat seat design, relaxed riding position and a digital instrument console, and upswept exhaust. The relaxed riding stance makes it suitable for urban ride as well as highway touring. It comes with a conventional teardrop-shaped fuel tank, circular headlamp with LED inserts, boomerang-shaped raidator guard and centre-set foot pegs.
