2021 Volkswagen Tiguan Facelift Launch On 7th December

The new 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan facelift is ready to hit showrooms on coming 7th December. The SUV will witness noticeable design changes and feature upgrades along with the removal of diesel powertrain. This time around, the Tiguan will be offered with the 2.0L, 4-cylinder TSI turbocharged petrol engine that pushes out a peak power of 190bhp and 320Nm of torque. The same motor powers the Tiguan AllSpace.

For performing transmission duties, the updated model will have a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Volkswagen’s 4MOTION AWD system will be standard across the model lineup.

The facelifted model continues to feature the brand’s existing design language. Its front fascia has been revised with the new grille, LED matrix headlamps with LED DRLs, tweaked bumper and fog lamps with triangular shaped housing. The SUV has been assembled with the newly-designed 18-inch alloy wheels. The rear section sports updated bumper, slimmer taillamps with new LED elements and slightly repositioned signature badge. No changes have been made to its interior layout. The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan facelift has virtual cockpit, a flat-bottom steering wheel, large panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting with 30 shades, Vienna leather seats, illuminated gear knob and illuminated scuff plates. It also gets driver side electric seat with memory function and three zone climate control.

For safety provision, the Tiguan facelift offers  6-airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system), a driver alert system, electronic stability programe (ESP), tyre pressure monitoring system, anti-slip regulation (ASR), electronic differential lock (EDL), hill start assist, auto hold and hill descent control.

The new Tiguan will take on the Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Compass and Citroen C5 AirCross. The SUV will come via CKD (completely knocked down) route and then assembled at the carmaker’s local facility. The new 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan prices are likely to start from Rs 26 lakh and go up to Rs 29 lakh (ex-showroom).
