Suzuki Avenis, the all-new 125cc scooter from the Japanese two-wheeler maker, has been launched in the country. The scooter is being offered in two variants and four colour options – Orange, Black, White and Fluorescent Green. The MotoGP-inspired special colour edition comes in Metallic Triton Blue shade. While the Standard variant has been priced at Rs 86,700, the Avenis Race Edition costs Rs 87,000 (all, ex-showroom). At this price point, the new Suzuki 125cc scooter takes directly on the Yamaha RayZR and TVS Ntorq.
After the Access and Burgman Street, it’s the third 125cc offering from Suzuki in India. The model carries sporty design elements and new tech features. Visually, the new Suzuki Avenis looks sportier than the Access 125. Its front fascia features trapezoidal LED headlamps with an integrated DRLs, a small windscreen, black rear view mirrors, coloured cladding and prominent creases.
Similar the SR 125 and SR 160, it has handlebar cowl integrated turn indicators. Some of its other key highlights include bold side creases, side stand interlock, dual luggage hooks, sporty graphics, a long floorboard, front dash for storage, alloy wheels, sporty muffler cover, split grab rails and split triangular LED taillamps.
On the feature front, the Suzuki Avenis offers an all digital instrument cluster similar to the Burgman Street and Access. The unit supports Bluetooth connvectivity for features such as turn-by-turn navigation and call/message alerts, powered by Suzuki Ride Connect App. It also gets a USB charger, integrated engine start and kill switch and an external fuel filler cap.
The new Suzuki scooter derives power from a 124cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, which is borrowed from the Burgman Street. The motor pushes out a maximum power of 8.5bhp at 6,750rpm and 10Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. A CVT (continuously variable transmission) gearbox delivers power to the rear wheel.
