The much-awaited 2021 Toyota Innova facelift has finally been revealed in the Indonesian market. This is for the first time that the current generation Innova has received any changes since launch in 2016. The new model comes with subtle design changes and upgraded interior along with new features.
In terms of exterior changes, the 2021 Toyota Innova gets an all-new front fascia. The front is dominated by a hexagonal grille with new 5 horizontal slats and chrome surrounds. The outgoing model has two thick chrome grille. The chrome surround in the new grille further enhances the bold front design of the Innova facelift. The newly styled bumper has vertical black housing for the fog lamps and turn signals. The headlamp unit has also been revised and it now features projector headlamps.
The side profile of the new Innova is largely identical to the current model, except for the new set of alloys. It features newly styled dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels. The rear profile also remains the same, featuring wrap around LED tail-lamps and new rear license garnish. The similar changes are expected on the India-spec Innova Crysta. Inside the cabin, the 2021 Toyota Innova facelift gets a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The system is also compatible with Radio, USB, Bluetooth and Miracast. It also gets new upholstery for seats in different pattern. The MPV gets black color captain seat and equipped with seat table and a touchscreen mounted on the front centre armrest for rear seat entertainment. It also gets integrated air purifier and premium ambient lighting. The dashboard is similar to the existing model; however, it gets new embellishment for the new wooden panel.
In terms of safety and security, the 2021 Toyota Innova gets dual front airbags and driver’s knee airbag as standard, vehicle stability control (VSC), Hill Start Assist, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX with Tether Anchor, etc.

In Indonesia, the 2021 Toyota Innova is available with 2 engine options – a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol and a 2.4-litre, 4-cylinder diesel. The petrol engine is capable of producing 139PS of power and 183Nm of torque, while the diesel engine produces 149PS of power and 342Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
The India-spec Innova facelift is likely to receive some high-end features like 360 degree camera park assist and wireless charging. In our market, yhe MPV is available with two BS6-compliant engines – a 2.4-litre diesel and a 2.7-litres petrol. The petrol engine is capable of producing 164bhp of power and a peak torque of 245Nm. On the other hand, the oil burner is good for 148bhp and 343Nm of torque. Transmission options are likely to include a 5-speed manual with RWD (standard) and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic (Optional).
