BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe has finally arrived in the Indian market. It’s the first-ever, small, four-door coupe from the German carmaker in the country. Here, it’s made available in two variants – Sport Line and M Sport – priced at Rs 39.30 lakh and Rs 41.40 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom, Pan India. At this price point, it will take on the upcoming new-generation Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine.
– Initially, the model has been made available in 220d guise powered by a 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. The oil burner, paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, pushes out a peak power of 190bhp and 400Nm of torque.
– The 2 Series Grand Coupe can do 0 to 100kmph in 7.5 seconds. It has a transverse engine and FWD (front-wheel-drive) system. The petrol version is likely to come at a later stage.
– The new 2 Series Gran Coupe petrol will come with a 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbo motor making power worth 192bhp and 280Nm of torque.
– The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe M Sport carries some sporty design bits including a heavily chromed front grille, ‘M’ badges on the front fenders, more aggressive front and rear bumpers, a blacked out window line, side skirts, 18-inch alloys, an M Sport aluminum pedals and steering wheel.
– Features such ambient lighting accents, digital screens for infotainment system and instrument cluster and leatherette upholstery are available on both variants.
– Its safety kit includes 6 airbags, traction control, ABS (anti-lock braking system), ESC (electronic stability control), rear view camera and more fitments.
– Buyers have a choice between dual-tone (Beige on Black) and all black colour scheme.
– The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe carries the brand’s new-age design language with bits such as raked headlamps with double-barrel LED elements and kidney shaped grille, pillar-less doors, a sloping roofline, slim L-shaped LED taillamps and heavily sculpted boot lid.
