The British carmaker has introduced the new MG Hector facelift alongside the Hector Plus 7-seater SUV. Prices of the updated model start from Rs 12.89 lakh for the entry-level variant and go up to Rs 18.32 lakh for the fully-loaded trim. All prices are ex-showroom, India. One of the significant design changes comes in the form of the larger 18-inch dual-tone machined alloy wheels. The SUV also receives a newly-designed ‘Thermopressed’ front chrome grille, dark rear tailgate appliqué and dual-tone exterior.

Unlike the pre-facelift that has all-black theme, the new MG Hector 2021 comes with a new dual-tone (Champagne & Black) interior scheme improve cabin ambience. The carmaker has equipped an updated infotainment system, which is compatible to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
This time around, the system gets the industry-first ‘Hinglish’ voice command recognition that can recognize and respond to over 35 Hinglish commands. Features such as wireless charging pad, ventilated seats both for driver and front passenger and auto dimming interior rear view mirror are new on the board. The SUV continues to offer an 8 speakers audio system with subwoofer, a 7.0-inch MID, keyless entry, remote car operation, PU leather upholstery, a 360 degree view camera, mood lighting in 8 colours, electric handbrake, 6-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, 4-way electrically adjustable co-driver seat, 6 airbags and many more goodies.
Things remain unchanged under the hood. The new 2021 MG Hector facelift comes with the same choice of a 143hp, 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre petrol with a 48V mild hybrid tech and a 170hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine. The mild hybrid powertrain delivers 20Nm extra torque at low speeds and around 12 percent more fuel efficiency than the petrol motor. The petrol variants can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The diesel models come as 6-speed manual gearbox only.
