2021 Maruti Swift Spotted 1st Time – Key Changes In 8 Quick Points

Maruti Suzuki is ready to give a mid-life update to its highly popular Swift hatchback in coming months. Ahead of its official launch, the updated model has been spotted testing for the first time in the country. The prototypes were partially camouflaged painted in dual tome colour scheme Solid Red with contrast black roof. This indicates that the spotted models were the higher variants. The 2021 Maruti Swift facelift is likely to receive cosmetic changes similar to the global-spec model that broke cover last year.

– Upfront, the new Maruti Swift 2021 facelift will feature a newly-designed grille, revised bumper and a chrome strip splitting the radiator grille. The hatchback might also come with a new set of alloy wheels. No other changes are likely to be made on the facelifted version.

– Most of the comfort goodies and safety features will be carried forward from the existing model. The 2021 Maruti Swift facelift will continue to offer leather wrapped steering wheel, automatic climate control, rear defogger, electrically retractable ORVMs, adjustable rear seat headrests, keyless entry, 4 speaker audio system, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, engine immobilizer, Isofix child seat mounts, speed sensing door locks, reverse parking sensors and camera and more.

– On the engine front, the new Maruti Swift 2021 facelift is likely to come with a 1.2L K12C petrol engine that’s good enough for 90bhp and 113Nm.

– Rumour has it that the carmaker might introduce a mild hybrid system with an ISG (Integrated Starter Generator) on the updated model lineup. If it happens, the Swift will become more fuel efficient.

– As far as launch is concerned, the 2021 Maruti Swift facelift might hit showrooms by March. Prices of the updated version could be slightly higher than the existing model that costs from Rs 5.19 lakh to Rs 8.02 lakh (ex-showroom).

– In terms of pricing, the Swift will have face tough competition from multiple cars right from Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Nissan Magnite to the upcoming Tata HBX and Hyundai AX1.
