According to a new media report, Maruti Suzuki will launch the much-awaited Swift facelift in February 2021. The report claims that the 2021 Maruti Swift facelift will be launched on either 17 or 18 February; however, Maruti Suzuki is yet to make an official announcement on the same.

The Maruti Swift facelift has already been spotted testing multiple times. The popular hatchback will receive some design changes and added features. The biggest change will be made under the hood, as it will receive an all-new powerful engine. The Swift facelift will be powered by a new 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder K12N Dualjet petrol engine that also powers the Dzire sedan.

2021 Maruti Swift facelift features

This petrol engine comes with idle start-stop technology, which helps in returning higher fuel efficiency. The engine has piston cooling jet, higher compression ratio and cooled EGR system, which further enhances it frugal nature by reducing friction. It is capable of producing 90bhp of power and 113Nm of torque.

The regular model will continue to be powered by a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder K12M engine. This naturally-aspirated engine is capable of producing 82bhp and 113Nm of torque. It offers a fuel economy of 21.2kmpl. On the other hand, the Swift facelift with dual-jet engine is likely to return 23.26kmpl and 24.12kmpl with manual and AMT gearboxes respectively.

2020 Maruti Swift Facelift Launch Price

The Maruti Swift facelift will receive minimal design changes. It is expected to receive a new dual-tone colour scheme – Orange and Black roof. The changes are likely to be made on the front with upgraded grille. It will get a new mesh detailing for the hexagonal shape front grille. The higher variants could receive automatic LED headlamps, LED DRLs and 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the hatchback is expected to receive new upholstery and an updated touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
