2021 Mahindra XUV500 Interior Features Revealed In A Video

Mahindra will launch the new generation XUV500 mid-sized SUV in the second half of 2021. The SUV has been caught testing multiple times. This time, a new video reveals the interior of the production-ready 2021 Mahindra XUV500.

The video also confirms that the 2021 Mahindra XUV500 will come with flush sitting door handles. The SUV gets newly styled leather-wrapped 3-spoke steering wheel with buttons to control the instrument cluster, infotainment system and cruise control. The switch-gears have piano-black finish with chrome surrounding, while the flat bottom steering gives it a sporty appeal. Also visible is the Mercedes-inspired dual screens on the dashboard, which also get soft-touch materials.

The instrument console has three sections including speedometer on the left, a temperature gauge and a tachometer on the right. The fuel gauge is placed towards the right of the tachometer. The instrument console reveals multiple details in digital form such as real-time fuel efficiency, average fuel efficiency and others. The vehicle gets a large touchscreen infotainment system, which will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The spotted model was equipped with automatic gearbox, as the instrument console shows ‘P’ which refers to the Parking mode. The SUV also gets new sticks to operate headlamp and wiper. It gets rectangular air-conditioning vents, which are placed below the touchscreen infotainment system. Chrome detailing can be seen around the AC vents. The SUV also gets a wide centre armrest, automatic climate control, cruise control, LED lighting system, connected car tech, panoramic sunroof and others.

The 2021 Mahindra XUV500 will be offered with two new engines – a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol and a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel. While the former is good to produce up to 190bhp and 350Nm of torque, the diesel engine is expected to produce around 180bhp. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer. The new-gen XUV500 was scheduled to be launched in the second quarter of 2021; however, the launch will be delayed due to global shortage of semiconductors.
