2021 Mahindra Bolero & Bolero Neo: Here’s What To Expect

Homegrown UV maker, Mahindra is planning to launch a wide range of new SUVs in the Indian market. Not just new models, the company will also upgrade the existing range to improve market share. Mahindra will also upgrade the Bolero SUV with new features and colours. Adding to it, the TUV300 facelift will be launched with a new name the Bolero Neo.

The upgraded Bolero has recently been leaked on the Internet. The 2021 Mahindra Bolero will come with aesthetic changes. It will come with a new dual-tone colour scheme, as the spotted model was finished in Red colour with contrasting grey colour on the grille and bumper.

In terms of changes, the 2021 Bolero will come with revised headlamp clusters with different internals. However, the front fascia including the grille and bumper remains the same. The mid-variant will miss out on fog lamps; however, this feature is most likely to be offered in the top-end model. The mid-variant also gets the blacked-out ORVMs instead of body-coloured units.

The 2021 Mahindra Bolero will continue to be offered with the same BS6-compliant 1.5-litre 3-cylinder, mHawk75 diesel engine that churns out 75bhp of power and 210Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Mahindra will launch the TUV300 facelift with a different name, and is expected to be called the Mahindra Bolero Neo. The new model will be sold alongside the existing Bolero, which has been a huge hit in rural and semi-urban India. The new Mahindra Bolero Neo will look similar to the older TUV300, featuring clam-shell bonnet, squared wheel arches and headlamps.

The new Mahindra Bolero Neo will receive new front fascia with updated grille and re-profiled headlamps. It gets new colour options, revised alloy wheels and tail-lights. Inside the cabin, the Mahindra Bolero Neo is expected to receive revised dashboard layout. It is most likely to get updated central console with new touchscreen infotainment system, new seat upholstery and instrument console.

It will be powered by the same 1.5-litre diesel engine that powers the TUV300; however, the engine will be tuned to meet the BS6 emission norms. In the BS4 avatar, this engine produces 100bhp and 240Nm of torque.  Transmission options are likely to include a 5-speed manual and an AMT.
