Earlier this year, the American SUV manufacturer introduced the Compass facelift with tweaked styling, new interior and more features. The SUV model lineup is spread across four trims – Sport, Longitude (O), Limited (O) and Model S – priced between Rs 17.19 lakh – Rs 28.49 lakh (all, ex-showroom). According to a fresh media report, the carmaker has updated the 2021 Jeep Compass Model S variant with a new infotainment system and automatic ventilated driver seat.
The Model S (O2) variant gets the fifth-generation R1 High 10.1-inch infotainment system, which is now compatible to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with the navigation system. The unit supports voice commands for hands-free operation of phone, media, radio, climate control and navigation. The new infotainment unit comes with 6 GB of RAM and a 40 K MIPS chipset that’s said to be faster than the old unit. As mentioned above, the 2021 Jeep Compass Model S (O2) receives an automatic driver seat that turns on when cabin temperature goes above 26.5 degree Celsius.
The Compass’s Model S trim has been offered with 2.0L, 4-cylinder diesel and 1.4L turbo petrol engines making power worth 168bhp with 350Nm and 156bhp with 250Nm respectively. While the petrol version comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, the diesel model gets a 6-speed manual transmission with 2WD and 4WD drivetrain systems. In terms of features, the 2021 Jeep Compass Model S trim offers automatic headlamps, LED projector taillamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic wipers, a panoramic sunroof, dual-tone exterior colour options, an 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 9 speakers audio system, a 360 degree parking camera, wireless charger, 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat with a memory function, auto dimming inside rear view mirror, leather upholstery, dual-tone dashboard and Jeep Selec Terrain 4X4 system (diesel automatic only).
The Model S (O2) variant is currently available with three engine-gearbox combinations – 2.0L Diesel manual, 2.0L diesel manual 4X4 and 1.4L DDCT petrol. While the diesel 2X4 and 4X4 are priced at Rs 24.84 lakh and Rs 28.64 lakh, the petrol model costs Rs 25.64 lakh (all, ex-showroom).
