We informed you earlier that the long-awaited 2021 Jeep Compass facelift will go on sale in the country in the first half of 2021. A new media report claims that the updated Compass is likely to be launched on January 23, 2021. In fact, dealers are reportedly started accepting pre-bookings for the new SUV.
The Jeep Compass facelift has recently been unveiled at the 2020 Guangzhou International Motor Show. The production of the new model will commence at FCA’s Ranjangaon facility in Maharashtra by the end of this month or in January 2021. The 2021 Jeep Compass comes with subtle design changes and upgraded interior.
Talking about exterior, the Compass facelift gets a new 7-slat chrome grille with honeycomb-like inserts, updated headlamps with LED DRLs and new bumper with larger air-dam and new fog lamp housing along with revised faux skid plate. It also gets new alloy wheels. The Trailhawk version has new front bumper, blacked-out front grille, and red/black decal on the bonnet with signature two hooks in the front bumper.
Inside the cabin, the 2021 Jeep Compass facelift has all-new dashboard dominated by a large, floating 10.1-inch touchscreen with FCA’s UConnect 5 infotainment system. The infotainment system is compatible with Amazon Alexa, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and over-the-air updates. The dashboard has double-stitched leather upholstery and brushed-aliminium trim. It sports new 3-spoke steering wheel, and full digital instrument console, light-grey leather seats and panoramic sunroof.
Due to design changes, the new Compass is 29mm longer and 17mm taller than the previous model. However, it retains the 2,636mm wheelbase. The India-spec model is expected to retain the existing 163bhp, 1.4L turbo petrol and 173bhp, 2.0L turbo-diesel engines. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed DCT (Petrol) and 9-speed automatic (Diesel).
