Ford India will soon give a mid-life update to the EcoSport subcompact SUV in the country. Recently, the new model was spotted testing without any camouflage on the outskirts of Chennai. The 2021 Ford EcoSport facelift is likely to hit roads in coming months. Its official launch date, however, is yet to be announced by the carmaker. Most of the design changes have been made at the front fascia. It features a newly-designed grille with new inserts and chrome lining around the edges. While the headlamps look similar to the existing units, the compact SUV gets revised front bumper with a faux skid plate on lower section, redesigned fog lamp assembly and inverted L-shaped LED DRLs. Design bits such as alloy wheels, ORVMs and LED taillamps remain unchanged. The new 2021 Ford EcoSport facelift could be offered in a new colour scheme.
Interior details of the new Ford EcoSport 2021 are still under the wraps. Though, the compact SUV is likely to receive an upgraded SYNC 3 infotainment system with latest smartphone connectivity. As mentioned above, the new 2021 Ford EcoSport will retain the engines from the current model. That means, the updated model will come with the 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel motors delivering power worth 121bhp with 149Nm and 99bhp with 215Nm respectively. All variants of the SUV will be available with a 5-speed manual gearbox and FWD (front-wheel-drive) system. It will also be offered with an optional 6-speed torque convertor automatic transmission.
