Force Motor recently unveiled the all-new Gurkha compact off-road SUV in its production avatar. The automaker also confirmed that its prices will be announced on 27th September and deliveries will begin from 15th October. Interested buyers can pre-book the vehicle from 27th September onwards. Here, it will be placed against the Mahindra Thar. The new 2021 Force Gurkha comes with more rugged styling, updated interior and BS6-compliant diesel engine. The SUV will be offered in five exterior colour options – White, Grey, Green, Orange and Red.
While its prices are slated to be announced next week, the new Force Gurkha 2021 is estimated to cost from Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom). Initially, the model will be sold at select locations. The company will offer the SUV with a range of accessories and a warranty of 1.5 lakh km/3 year and 4 free services. For on road assistance, the automaker has tied up with Auto Europa India that has more than 6200 touchpoints.
Under the hood, the new Gurkha features the BS6 ready 2.6L diesel engine mated to a 5-speed Mercedes G-28 gearbox with the hydraulically activated clutch and cable shift. The oil burner makes a top power of 89bhp and 250Nm of torque between 1400rpm- 2400rpm. It comes with an AWD (all-wheel-drive) system and a low-range transfer case along with the front and rear locking differential. For performing suspension duties, the 2021 Gurkha has independent double wishbone and a rigid unit with coil springs all around at the front and rear axles respectively.

One of the major updates made inside its cabin is a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and navigation. It has a new black interior with features such as a tilt and telescopic adjustable steering column, central locking, power windows, rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, variable intermittent speed front wipers, cornering lamps, speed sensing door locks and single piece rear door with wipers.
The new 2021 Force Gurkha comes with the forward-facing rear seats. The compact off-road SUV offers boot space of over 500-litres. Some of its key design changes include new front grille with circular bi-LED headlamps and LED DRLs, new fog lamps, a clamshell bonnet, pronounced wheel arches covered with heavy black claddings, newly-designed 16-inch alloy wheels, a roof mounted luggage carrier, vertically positioned new taillamps and a ladder on the tailgate.
