2020 Mahindra TUV300 Facelift – New Front, BS6 Engine, Better Safety

Mahindra & Mahindra is ready to give a mid-life update to the TUV300 subcompact SUV in coming weeks. Though, its official launch date is yet to be announced by the carmaker. Recently, the updated model was spotted testing near Chennai. The latest spy pictures reveal that the most of the changes will be made at its front end. The 2020 Mahindra TUV300 facelift will feature a new grille, revised bumper with a more trapezoidal air dam, revised headlamps and rectangular fog lamps instead of the squared-out design. The LED DLRs have been shifted to the upper edge of the unit. Minor changes are expected to made to its side and rear profiles.

The 2020 Mahindra TUV300 facelift will comply with the new pedestrian crash-test safety standards. At presently, the compact SUV offers dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Isofix child seat mounts (second row) and seat-belt reminder as standard safety features. Similar to the existing model, the updated 7-seater model will continue to come with two side facing jump seats in the boot. The carmaker might introduce a new trim finishes and features to the 2020 TUV300 model lineup.

The standard equipment kit will continue to include the vinyl upholstery, power windows, power steering with tilt, single-zone HVAC with heater, Eco mode and rear footstep. The leatherette upholstery, lumbar support for front seats and storage tray below driver’s seat will continue to be reserved for the top-end T 10 (O) variant.

Under the hood, the facelifted TUV300 will house the BS6-compliant 1.5L, 3-cylinder turbo diesel engine with 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. In its BS4 form, the motor pushes out a peak power of 100bhp and 240Nm of torque. The power and torque figures of the updated engine are likely to remain same.
