2020 Mahindra Thar Modified Version From DC Design

The new-gen 2020 Mahindra Thar has been receiving an overwhelming response from buyers. The lifestyle SUV currently commands a waiting period of up to 22 weeks. The new model looks quite appealing and rugged; however, DC Design has released a new Dress/body kit to make it more attractive.

The 2020 Mahindra Thar modified with DC Design kit comes with new smaller grille, which replaces the stock grille. However, the grille retains the vertical slats design. Instead of the retro-styled round-headlamps, the kitted Thar gets sleeker and smaller headlamp unit.

The lifestyle SUV gets a protruding bumper, which dominates the front profile and a skid plate is placed right at the bottom. The SUV’s bonnet has been revamped with more beefier design and new air vents and a scooped section. DC Design team has also increased the ground clearance of the Thar, which should add to its capabilities during extreme off-roading. The SUV also gets new alloy wheels shod with bigger, knobby tyres.

Mahindra Thar DC Design Changes

The DC Design Mahindra Thar comes with massive body-coloured wheel arches for rugged profile. The body kit also offers new horizontally stacked tail-lamps, bigger bumper, new spare wheel, new tailgate opening section and others. However, the overall rear profile looks largely identical to the stock variant. Also See – New Mahindra Thar Vs Force Gurkha

DC Design hasn’t released the engine specifications and other details about the new Thar. It will be offered with two engine options – a 2.0-litre mStallion petrol and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel. While the former is good for 150bhp and 300Nm of torque, the oil burner produces 130bhp and 300Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor (320Nm of torque with diesel).

The new Mahindra Thar is available in AX and LX series, and offered in 3 roof top versions – hard top, soft top and convertible. The entry-level variants ride on 16-inch steel wheels, while the higher-end variants get bigger 18-inch alloy wheels shod with 255/65 R18 tyres.
