We expect the new 2020 Hyundai i20 to price between Rs 5.80 lakh and Rs 10.50 lakh.
The long-awaited new generation 2020 Hyundai i20 will finally go on sale in the Indian market tomorrow. Bookings for the hatchback have already been started at a token amount of Rs 21,000. Interested buyers can pre-book the hatchback online or via authorized Hyundai dealerships across India.
2020 Hyundai i20 Price Expectation
The previous generation i20 was available in petrol and diesel avatar, and was priced between Rs 5.54 lakh and Rs 9.10 lakh. The new model will be more premium, feature-loaded and will be offered in multiple engine-gearbox combinations.
We expect the new-gen i20 to cost around Rs 5.8 lakh for the base model and close to 10.5 lakh for the top-end variant. It will directly rival the Honda Jazz, Tata Altroz and the segment-leader Maruti Suzuki Baleno. While the i20 and the Altroz are available in petrol and diesel guise, the Baleno and the Jazz are offered in petrol version only.
2020 Hyundai i20 Specs
The new-gen i20 will come in 3 engine options – a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol, a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel. The 1.0-litre turbocharged engine will come with a 6-speed iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission) and a 7-speed DCT (Dual-Clutch transmission) It is capable of producing 118bhp of power and 172Nm of torque.
The diesel engine will be offered with a single 6-speed manual gearbox option. It is the same engine that powers the Hyundai Venue, and is capable of churning out 99bhp and 240Nm of torque.
