Honda Cars India is all set to launch the updated Jazz hatchback in coming weeks. Ahead of its official launch, the carmaker has started dispatching the model at its dealerships across the nation. Official bookings of the 2020 Honda Jazz BS6 have already been commenced at an initial sum of Rs 21,000. Buyers can pre-book the model online by paying a token amount of Rs 5,000. While the updated Jazz will retain the original design and dimensions, minor changes have been made to its front end. The hatchback receives a new black grille with chrome accents, updated bumper, newly-designed headlamps with integrated LED DRLs and new LED fog lamp assembly. Save for the LED taillamps, no changes have been made to its rear profile. The new Jazz looks exactly similar to the outgoing model when viewed from the side.
Subtle updates have also been made inside the cabin. The BS6 Honda Jazz offers an electric sunroof with one-touch function, which is first in the segment. The feature list also includes a touchscreen infotainment system, Smart entry and engine start/stop button, cruise control, paddle shifters (for CVT variants only) and several other goodies. For power, the 2020 Honda Jazz will use the BS6-compliant version of the existing 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine. The motor pushes out a peak power of 89bhp and 110Nm of peak torque. The hatchback’s updated model can be had either with a 5-speed manual gearbox (standard) or a CVT automatic transmission (optional). Similar to the new City, the updated Jazz CVT variants might be offered with paddle shifters.
As mentioned above, official prices of the new Jazz will be announced in coming weeks. It’s likely to witnessed minor price hike due to subtle cosmetic and feature upgrades and BS6-compliant engine.
