Upcoming Honda CB Hornet 200cc Bike – What To Expect?

Honda 2Wheelers India has officially announced to launch an all-new motorcycle on August 27, 2020. The company has released a new teaser video, which reveals interesting details about the upcoming 200cc bike. The video suggests that the new motorcycle is basically the CB190R, which is on sale in select international markets including China.

It is reported that the new motorcycle could be re-branded as the CB Hornet 200R for the Indian market. Honda hasn’t launched the BS6 compliant CB Hornet 160R and the new 200cc motorcycle could be introduced as its successor. It is expected to be priced around Rs 1.30 lakh, which will make the new motorcycle a direct rival to TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and Bajaja Pulsar NS 200.

The teaser video suggests that the motorcycle retains the original CB190R design, which is basically a naked streetfighter. In terms of styling elements, the new CB190R gets sharp LED headlamp, LED tail-lamp, LCD instrument console, larger fuel tank, stylish alloys and underbelly exhaust. The motorcycle in the teaser is finished in a Blue colour.

The teaser also reveals that the upcoming CB Hornet 200R will receive upside-down telescopic front forks and monoshock suspension unit at the rear. For braking, the motorcycle will receive disc brakes for both wheels. Dual-channel ABS system is likely to come as standard.

The International-spec Honda CBF190 is powered by 184cc, air-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 16.86PS of power and 16.3Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 5-speed gearbox. The India-spec model is likely to feature a slightly more powerful 200cc engine.
