2 New Tata Electric SUVs Launching In 2024

Tata Motors is set to embark on an ambitious journey in the Indian electric vehicle (EV) market, unveiling a comprehensive plan that includes the launch of the Punch.ev micro SUV on December 21, 2023. This strategic move is geared towards capitalizing on the growing mass-market segment within the EV space.

In the pipeline for 2024 are two eagerly anticipated additions to Tata’s electric SUV lineup, each targeting distinct price points. The Tata Curvv EV is slated for a May or June launch, while the Tata Harrier EV is scheduled to make its debut towards the close of 2024. According to credible media reports, series production of the Curvv EV is set to commence in April at Tata Motors’ state-of-the-art facility in Pune.

Tata Curvv Launch Date

Tata Motors aims to retail approximately 48,000 units of the Tata Curvv SUV. This figure includes a substantial 12,000 units of the electric iteration and a significant 36,000 units of its petrol-powered counterpart. The foundation of the Tata Curvv EV lies in the Gen 2 (Sigma) platform, a versatile architecture compatible with various body styles and powertrain configurations. This platform is ready to serve as the bedrock for Tata’s future forays into the realm of electric vehicles. It’s noteworthy that the automaker has already divulged its plans for upcoming EVs based on Gen 1 and Gen 2 platforms, promising impressive range capabilities exceeding 500 kilometers on a full charge.

The Tata Curvv EV will come with a comprehensive suite of advanced features including ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology, a 360-degree camera, a generous 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch driver’s display, ventilated seats, a redesigned steering wheel, front and rear parking sensors, and more.

Tata Harrier Electric Launch

Meanwhile, the Tata Harrier EV, which made a preview appearance in its conceptual form earlier in the year, is set to showcase a distinctive design compared to its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart. The production version is expected to stay true to the concept, boasting a redesigned grille, split headlamps with a novel LED light bar, an updated front bumper, and angular creases.

Identifiable by EV badges on the fenders, flush door handles, and larger wheels, the official specifications of the Harrier EV remain undisclosed. However, industry expectations point towards Tata’s Ziptron electric powertrain, promising an extensive driving range. The electric SUV is anticipated to be equipped with modern tech, autonomous features, and connectivity.
