Mahindra & Mahindra is on a roll. The home-grown carmaker recently introduced the new Mahindra XUV700 5/7-seater SUV and has a handful of new models that slated to hit roads in coming years. If reports are to be believed, the company has planned two new SUVs for the early 2022 – Mahindra eKUV100 and new-generation Mahindra Scorpio. Here’re details and expected prices of the upcoming two new models.
Mahindra eKUV100
The production-ready version of the Mahindra eKUV100 was recently caught on camera without any camouflage. The electric mini SUV comes with a 15.9kWh battery pack delivering power to a single electric motor that’s good enough for 54.4bhp and 120Nm. It battery takes 5 hours 45 minutes to get fully charged via a standard charger. The eKUV100 is claimed to offer a range of up to 150km. Minor cosmetic changes have been made to its production ready model. Prices of the electric micro SUV are likely to fall in the range of Rs 9 lakh – Rs 13 lakh. If priced aggressively, the Mahindra eKUV100 will be the most affordable EV in the country.
New-Gen Mahindra Scorpio
The all-new Mahindra Scorpio will surely be one of the most important car launches of the next year. The SUV will see significant changes inside and out along with a new engine setup. The latest spy images reveal that the model gets a 360 degree parking camera along with a new touchscreen infotainment system, dual-tone leatherette upholstery, a semi digital instrument console, a flat bottom multi functional steering wheel and more. On the engine front, the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will get a new 2.0L turbo and a 2.2L mHawk diesel motor with manual and automatic gearbox options. The SUV will sit on the modified ladder frame chassis and continue to come with the RWD (rear-wheel drive) system. Its likely to be priced from Rs 12 lakh onwards.
