In April 2023, we will witness two major new car launches from Maruti Suzuki and MG Motor India. While the Indo-Japanese automaker will announce prices of the Fronx compact crossover, the British carmaker will introduce the MG Comet 2-door small electric car. Here’re key details of the aforementioned upcoming new cars.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx
The Fronx compact crossover will be the first major product launch from the Indo-Japanese automaker this year. The model will be retailed exclusively via Nexa dealership and it’s estimated to cost between Rs 7 lakh – Rs 11 lakh. Engine setup of the new Maruti Fronx includes a 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol and a 1.2L, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol unit. Boosted with mild hybrid tech, the former unit makes 100bhp with 147.6Nm and the latter delivers 90bhp with 113Nm. The Fronx model lineup will be available in three trims – Sigma, Delta and Delta+. The compact crossover is packed with features such as a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, HUD, wireless phone charger, connected car tech, cruise control, etc. More details here…
MG Comet
MG Comet will be the smallest offering from the British automaker in India. While its prices will be officially announced next month, it’s estimated to cost around Rs 10 lakh. In this price range, it will take on the Tata Tiago EV and Citroen eC3. For power, the electric car will use a 17.3kWh battery pack and deliver a range of 200km on a single charge. Its higher variants will get a 26.7kWh battery pack offering a range of around 300km. In terms of features, the new Comet 2-door electric car will offer a dual 10.25-inch display (one for the infotainment and one for the instrumentation), connected car tech, keyless entry, an automatic AC unit, steering mounted controls and a multi-functional two-spoke steering wheel.
