Maruti Suzuki Fronx Launch Likely In First Week Of April

Maruti Suzuki is getting ready for the launch of the much-awaited Fronx crossover in the Indian market. It is expected to be launched in the first week of April 2023. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx will be positioned between the Baleno and the Grand Vitara, and will be retailed through NEXA premium dealership network. 

The new Maruti Suzuki Fronx can be booked online or at authorised NEXA dealership network by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000. It is essentially the crossover version of the Baleno hatchback. Expected to be priced somewhere between Rs 7 lakh and Rs 11 lakh, the new Fronx will be positioned against the likes of the Nissan Magnite and the Renault Kiger. It will slot below the Brezza in the brand’s SUV line-up.

Not just platform, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx crossover will share the interior and features from the Baleno hatchback. It comes fitted with a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment touchscreen system with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. In terms of features, the Fronx crossover gets an Arkamys-tuned sound system, wireless phone charger, Heads-Up Display or HUD, connected car tech, keyless entry, automatic AC with rear AC vents, push-button start, cruise control and others. 

For safety and security, the new Maruti Fronx is fitted with six airbags, vehicle stability control, a 360 degree camera, rear parking sensors, etc. The new model will be offered with two engine options – a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol and a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol. Both powertrains are benefited with mild hybrid tech.

The 1.0L turbo petrol engine churns out a maximum power output of 100bhp and a peak torque of 147.6Nm. On the other hand, the 1.2L NA engine produces 90bhp and 113Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual as standard, a 5-speed AMT with naturally-aspirated unit and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic with turbo petrol engine. 

The 1.2L naturally-aspirated petrol unit will be available in 3 trim levels – Sigma, Delta and Delta+. On the other hand, the turbo version will come in 3 trims – Delta+, Zeta and Alpha. The top-spec model rides on 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.
