In November 2022, we will witness global unveilings of two new utility vehicles (UVs) that will make their way to India next year. While the new-generation Honda WR-V subcompact SUV will be showcased on 2nd November, Toyota will unveil the Innova HyCross three-row MPV next month in Indonesia. Here’re some key details of both the upcoming new UVs.
New-Gen Honda WR-V
The 2023 Honda WR-V was first previewed as Honda RS Concept at the last year’s GIIAS edition. The compact SUV will be made available with petrol, petrol-hybrid and diesel engine options in global markets. In India, it’s likely to come with the 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine that’s good enough for 121PS and 145Nm. Both manual and automatic (CVT) gearboxes will be on offer. The SUV’s new model will be equipped with features such as a semi digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system with connected car features, leather upholstery and ambient lighting. Toyota Innova HyCross
The all-new Toyota Innova HyCross will be first launched in the Indonesian market, followed by its India launch in early 2023. The MPV will be designed on the new monocoque platform replacing the conventional ladder frame chassis. In fact, the model will feature the FWD system instead of the RWD setup. It will be bigger than the existing Innova Crysta. The Innova HyCross is reported to come with the 2.0L petrol engine boosted with strong hybrid technology. The powertrain will be paired to an e-CVT automatic gearbox. It could be Toyota India’s first vehicle to come with a factory-fitted sunroof. Some of its key features will include Toyota Safety Sense (TSS), wireless phone charging, ventilated seats, a 360 degree camera, etc. More details here…
