Toyota Innova HyCross is all set to make its world debut in November 2022. In order to create excitement among buyers, the carmaker released a teaser image of the three-row MPV ahead of its official unveiling. In India, the model will arrive in early 2023 (possibly in January). Compared to the current generation Innova Crysta, the new Innova HyCross will be different in terms of design and engine mechanism. In fact, it will underpin a monocoque platform instead of the ladder frame chassis. The MPV will have bigger dimensions and receive several new goodies for the very first time.
Talking about the powertrain, the Innova HyCross will have a 2.0L petrol engine with the strong hybrid technology sourced from the Hyryder. With an e-CVT automatic gearbox, the setup will deliver power over 190PS. One of the major changes will come in the form of the FWD (front-wheel drive) system replacing the RWD (rear-wheel drive) setup. There will be no diesel engine option.
The recently leaked patent image confirms that the new Toyota Innova HyCross will have a panoramic sunroof. It will be the first Toyota model in India to come with the factory-fitted sunroof. Reports suggest that MPV’s new model will also be packed with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS), which essentially the brand’s ADAS tech. The suite includes safety features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency brakes, pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, road sign assist, automatic high beam and dynamic radar cruise control.
On the feature front, the new Toyota Innova HyCross will also have a larger touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity, a 360 degree camera, wireless phone charging and ventilated seats. The MPV will have a wheelbase of 2850mm and length around 4.7 meters.
The new 2023 Toyota Innova Hybrid prices in India are expected to start from Rs 20 lakh for the base variant and go up to Rs 22 lakh for the range-topping trim. Currently, the Innova Crysta model lineup is available within the price range of Rs 18.09 lakh – Rs 23.83 lakh (all, ex-showroom).
