New Volkswagen Beetle has been launched in India at Rs. 28.73 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The India-bound Volkswagen Beetle 2015 is powered by a 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder TSI engine that is matched to a 7-speed DSG transmission with paddles on the steering wheel. This petrol mill is capable to deliver power worth of 147.9bhp and 250Nm of torque.
The new Beetle carries several design similarities with the original model. Though, it’s sportier and more feature-packed than before. Similar the previous model, the new Beetle is being brought to India via CBU (completely built up) route. Since it belongs to a niche segment, the VW Beetle won’t have any direct rivalry in India. Though, it might affect the sales of the Mini Cooper.

With sportier design and feature-packed cabin, the Volkswagen Beetle is priced at Rs. 28.73 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). It will be sold across select Volkswagen dealerships in India.
Exterior Styling
The new VW Beetle retains the original hatchback shape and pronounced fenders. Though, it looks like a squeezed version of the outgoing model. On the front end, the car receives bi-xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights (DRL), body-colored bumper and fog lamps with static cornering lights. It also gets a panoramic sunroof, protective side moldings, body-coloured exterior mirrors and door handles, rear spoiler, rear and side windows with green heat-insulating glass and slightly stretched out tail lamps.
The 21st Century Beetle rides on the 16-inch alloy wheels that are wrapped with 205/60 R16 tyres. The new Beetle is made available in four exterior colours options – Blue Silk, Oryx White, Tornado Red and Habnaero Orange.
Interior & Features
The interior design of the vehicle looks more evolved and appealing than before. The car gets leather interiors, dashboard mounted accessory gauges and chrome packages that add more to its sporty appearance. Besides this, the new Beetle comes equipped with several comfort and connectivity features such as Climatronic dual-zone air-conditioning system, multi-function display “Plus”, radio “Composition Media” with 8 speakers, USB interface, Aux-in and Bluetooth connectivity, front seat with height adjustment, keyless access with start-stop button, etc.
For safety its passengers, the car offers 6 airbags, electronic stability control, anti-lock braking system, anti-slip regulation , electronic differential lock , electronic immobilizer, central locking, hill-hold control and ISOFIX.
