Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the rear-disc variants of the Gixxer and Gixxer SF at Rs. 79,726 and Rs 87,243 (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. Both the variants get a 240mm rear disc brake with a single floating caliper. The Gixxer rear disc comes with three dual tone colour options – Lush Green / Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Triton Blue / Pearl Mirage White and Candy Sonoma Red / Glass Sparkle Black. While, the Gixxer SF rear disc gets two shades – Pearl Mirage Red and Glass Sparkle Black.

Both the Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF rear-disc variants are claimed to deliver better stability and control on all kinds of terrains. Power for the bikes comes from the same 154.9cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that does duty in the regular model. This power mill is boasted with SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance) technology, and returns a claimed mileage of 63.2kmpl. It delivers a maximum power of 14.5bhp at 8000rpm and a torque of 14Nm at 6000rpm. Transmission on offer is a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Gixxer motorcycle sits on diamond chassis that has been developed by the engineers responsible for the legendary GSX-R series. It comes equipped with 100/80-70 front & 140/60R-17 rear tyres, and telescopic upfront and rear swing arm, mono suspension system. The bike measures 2,050mm in length, 785mm in width and 1,030mm in height. Its wheelbase and ground clearance stand at 1,330mm and 160mm respectively.

Besides these Gixxer rear disc variants, Suzuki India will also introduce updated Gixxer SF later this year. This faired bike is powered with the same 154.9ccc, single-cylinder engine that will be benefited with fuel injection technology.
