Maruti Suzuki India has, silently, launched the automated manual transmission equipped ZXI variant in the country. Earlier only LXI and VXI trims had this transmission. Priced at Rs. 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Maruti Celerio ZXI AMT (Easy Shift) has now become the most expensive petrol model in the line-up. While one can pre-book the car, the deliveries will begin only after 8-10 days.
Talking about features, the Celerio ZXI AMT comes with everything offered with the regular ZXI manual transmission variant. Some key features are – driver-side airbag, audio system with radio, CD, USB, AUX-in & Bluetooth, 4 speakers, electrically adjustable outside rear view mirror, steering mounted audio controls, front seat pockets, chrome grille, body coloured outside door handle, door mirrors and bumper, etc.

Powering the Maruti Celerio ZXI is the same 1.0-litre K-Series engine that also does duty on the regular models. It churns out a maximum power of 67bhp at 6,000rpm and a peak torque of 90Nm at 3,500rpm. The engine helps the vehicle return an impressive 23.1km/l.
The country’s largest carmaker is planning to launch the Maruti Celerio diesel too in the country by the end of this month or early June.
