While Tata Motors is yet to announce the launch date and pricing of the 2015 Safari Storme facelift, pre-bookings for the car have already begun at the company’s sales outlets. Already on display at all Tata dealerships, the vehicle can be booked for a token amount of Rs. 21,000 (refundable). Though the company hasn’t officially revealed the pricing of the car, our sources reveal that there will be three variants – LX, EX and VX – priced between Rs. 9.99 lakh – Rs. 13.01 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Our sources further reveal that the new model will be launched within next 7 days. Unlike earlier, the new base model LX will be 5-seater. Whereas EX and VX will be offered in 7 seat configurations (2+3+2).

Exterior
The 2015 Tata Safari Storme is based on the same hydro-formed chassis that also underpins the Aria MPV and the current Storme. The silhouette of the car will remain unchanged, but it gets noteworthy changes to its front.
It comes with a new honeycomb grille and air-dam section, which are inspired from the Land Rover Freelander 2. Its front fender features Varicor badging that indicates that the vehicle will get updated engine. At the rear, the SUV has new LED tail lamps and revised bumper.
Interior
The cabin is where the Storme facelift gets most changes. It comes equipped with the new 3-spoke steering wheel sourced from the Zest sedan, while the center console has silver finish. The multi-functional steering sports audio controls for the new Harman Kardon music system. This system comes integrated with the parking sensor display. It is loaded with new trims, materials and colours for dashboard, seats and door panels. The vehicle misses out on the clock unit, while the 4WD selector knob on VX 4×4 variant has been repositioned to centre console from centre tunnel.
Engine & specs
The current Safari Storme is powered by the 2.2-litre VariCOR diesel engine that produces 140bhp of power and 320Nm of torque. This engine will be tuned to increase power by 150bhp, while the torque remains the same. The motor will be paired to the same 5-speed manual gearbox. In addition to the tuned engine, the vehicle is expected to come with tweaked chassis as well that will help improve its driving dynamics.
