Tata Motors To Launch 4 New Electric Cars, SUVs In India By 2024

Tata Motors has recently unveiled the new Curvv Electric SUV concept. The company has announced to have 10 EVs in the portpolio by 2026. In the next 2 years, the company will introduce 3-4 new Electric models. Tata Motors has announced to launch 2 new electric cars based on the existing ICE models by 2023. Tata Motors is all set to launch the long range version of the Nexon EV in the country. It will be sold alongside the existing model, which is equipped with the existing 30.3kWh battery. The new model is likely to come with the larger 40kWh battery pack. As per the leaked RTO document, the new model will deliver power close to 136PS that’s 7PS more powerful than the outgoing model.

The 2022 Tata Nexon EV is likely to deliver a range of over 400km on a full charge. In real world conditions, the SUV is likely to offer range of close to 300km. It will also be offered with a more powerful 6.6kW AC charger. The EV could also receive the selectable regeneration modes allowing deliver to adjust the intensity of regenerative braking. In terms of features, the new EV could get ventilated seats, air purifier, cruise control, electronic stability program (ESP) and a park mode.

Tata Motors had showcased the Altroz EV at the 2020 Auto Expo. The new model is expected to be launched before the end of this financial year. It is likely to use the brand’s Ziptron technology that consists of an IP-67 certified lithium-ion battery pack and a permanent magnet AC motor. It is expected to deliver a range between 250km – 300km. The company could also use the updated version of the Ziptron tech for higher range. Similar to the compact electric SUV, the Altroz EV could be offered with the ZConnect app offering 35 connected car features.

Tata Motors is also expected to develop an electric version of the Punch micro SUV. It is likely to be launched in 2023. The new model will be the brand’s cheapest electric model in the country. The new model is likely to use the Ziptron EV powertrain technology that powers the Nexon EV. The micro SUV is likely to use a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack powering a 129bhp, electric motor mounted on the front axle. The Nexon EV offers a claimed range of 312km on a single charge.

Tata Motors has recently revealed the new Curvv electric SUV concept. The production version of the SUV Coupe is likely to be launched by 2024. Not just Electric, the new Curvv based SUV Coupe will also be offered with petrol and diesel engine options. It is based on the Generation 2 platform, which is basically the modified version of the Tata’s X1 platform. The SUV Coupe is likely to measure 4.3 meters in length and will ride on a longer wheelbase.

The new Tata Curvv Electric SUV is likely to feature a bigger battery pack with range close to 400-500kms. The new model will rival the likes of the MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona EV.
