Ola Electric is all set to launch its first electric scooter in India on August 15, 2021. Ahead of its official arrival, the company keeps pouring new interesting details of the e-scooter. Recently, the two-wheeler maker revealed that the new Ola electric scooter will come equipped with a reverse mode that will help park it at tight parking spots. One must note that it’s not a new feature in the premium electric scooter segment. The Ather 450X and TVS iQube electric scooters have already been offered with the park assist or reverse mode option.
Official powertrain details of the new Ola e-scooter will be revealed during its launch event. Though, it’s likely to come with a 3.4kWh battery pack offering a range around 150km. The scooter might offer a top speed of around 100kmph and it will be capable to do 0 to 45kmph in 3.9 seconds.
The company has already confirmed that the Ola scooter will provide the largest underseat storage space in its segment. Its upcoming arch rival – Simple One electric scooter is claimed to offer storage area of 30-litres.
The new Ola electric scooter is reported to be offered in three variants and 10 colour options. The paint schemes will include Pastel Red, Pastel Yellow, Pastel Blue, Matte Black, Matte Blue, Matte Grey, Metallic Pink, Metallic Silver and Metallic Gloss. One of its key features will include a digital instrument console, cloud connectivity, smartphone connectivity, telescopic front suspensions, removable lithium-ion battery, alloy wheels, etc.
Pre-bookings of the Ola e-scooter were commenced online from 15th July 2021. In fact, the model has already created enough buzz that it gathered 1 lakh orders within first 24 hours. Prices of the scooter are likely to be around Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). It will take on the multiple electric scooters including Bajaj Chetak, Ather 450X, TVS iQube and the upcoming Simple One.
