Honda had revealed the new generation of the HR-V mid-sized SUV for Europe and Japan in February this year. The company is now preparing the next-gen CR-V, which has been spotted testing several times on foreign soil. Expected to be introduced in the end of 2022, the new Honda CR-V has been spotted testing on the streets of Germany.
The spotted model was fully camouflaged; however, the silhouette is clearly visible. The new closer images gives us the better idea about the changes that will be applied in the new Honda CR-V. It is clear that the new SUV is in the final stages of testing, as the spotted vehicle has production-ready body parts. The SUV gets a prominent hexagonal grille with a big Honda logo in the center section along with the sharpest and connected headlights at the top.
The hood seems longer and flatter compared to the current model, and the similar styling is also visible on the new HR-V compact SUV. The outside rear view mirrors are now positioned on the doors instead on the A column in the current model. There is a strong crease above the door handles, which will give it a strong profile.
The new Honda CR-V looks significantly bigger than the current model. At the back, the SUV gets vertically stacked tail-lamps, and new tailgate. The rear design looks a little bigger than the current generation, which suggest that the SUV will have bigger interior. It is expected that the new model will also come with an option with 7 seats.
It is expected that the new Honda CR-V will follow the brand’s new interior design, with a tablet-type entertainment system with a touch-sensitive screen. The SUV will have more refined and premium interior.
The current model is available with hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants, and the same is expected with the next-gen CR-V as well. Adding to it, the new model will also receive a pure electric version for the several global markets. The SUV is also expected to feature a 1.5-litre turbocharged VTEC engine with CVT gearbox.
