The long-awaited Ather 450X electric scooter has been launched in the Indian market at Rs 99,000 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). This is the base price of the scooter, and owners will have to pay an additional Rs 1,699 (Plus) or Rs 1,999 (Pro) as a subscription service each month. It is basically the more powerful and feature-loaded than the standard 450. Users can also purchase the Ather 450X without the subscription plan for Rs 1.49 lakh for the Plus variant and Rs 1.59 lakh for the Pro variant.

The monthly subscription plan will determine the amount of performance and range you will get with the Ather 450X. With the affordable Plus Subscription plan, the scooter offers 5.4kW and 22Nm of torque. The battery range is 75km in Eco, which is 10km less. Adding to it, the usable capacity will be reduced to 2.4kWh from the 2.7kWh in the Pro plan. The more powerful plan will give full performance.

Ather 450X Launched Specs

The Ather 450X is powered by a 3.3kWh/6KW motor that offers 26Nm of torque, which is 5.5Nm more than the standard 450. It is claimed to achieve 0-40kmph in just 3.3 seconds (3.9 second in the Ather 450) before hitting a top speed of 80kmph. The scooter also has higher gradeability at 20 degrees compared to 18 degrees on the 450. The scooter gets lighter by 4kg, weighing at 108kg.

In the ride mode, the Ather 450X has a claimed range of 70km. In the Eco mode, the scooter offers a range of 85km that is 10km higher than the standard 450. The lithium-ion battery takes 3 hours 35min to achieve 80% charging and 5 hours 45min to achieve 100 percent charging from zero.

In terms of styling changes, the Ather 450X comes equipped with an upgraded instrument console (with 1.3Ghz Snapdragon processor). The operating system is upgraded to Open Android from the base Linux. It features a 7.0-inch screen, and the updated e-Scooter now supports 4G LTE and fitted with Bluetooth 4.2. Adding to it, the scooter gets side-stand sensor and three new colours.
