Suzuki Gixxer 250 coming next month to rival Yamaha FZ25
The Suzuki Gixxer 250 is reportedly to make India debut on May 20, 2019.
It is no secret that Suzuki is working on an all-new 250cc Gixxer range for the Indian market. A new media report claims that the Suzuki Gixxer 250, a quarter-litre naked roadster, will make its debut on May 20, 2019. Not just a naked roadster, Suzuki is also working on an all-new fully-faired Gixxer 250 SF for the Indian market.
It is expected that the Suzuki Gixxer 250 will go on sale in the country in June 2019. We believe that the company could preview this motorcycle to media and dealers in May, while official launch and price announcement could take place in June 2019. The Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer 250 SF will directly rival the Yamaha FZ25 and the Fazer 250 respectively.
It is expected that the design and styling of the new Suzuki Gixxer 250 will be inspired by the Suzuki GSX-S300. The motorcycle is most likely to share some of the design elements of the Haojue DR-300. The motorcycle will get MRF tyres and conventional fork suspension setup. Some of the features are likely to include LED headlamps and tail-lamps and all-digital instrument console. The street naked bike will receive dual-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) as standard feature. Braking system will comprise of disc brakes on both sides.
Official engine details of the upcoming Gixxer 250 are still under the wraps. It is expected to get a 250cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine, which could be benefited with fuel injection technology. It is likely to deliver power close to 22-25PS and torque around 20Nm. It is expected that the Suzuki Gixxer 250 could be priced in the range of Rs 1.35 lakh to Rs 1.45 lakh, while the fully-faired model could cost around Rs 1.55 lakh.
