Mahindra XUV300 Base Model With High-End Features Spied

Even the base variant of the Mahindra XUV300 is loaded with several high-end features.

Mahindra & Mahindra, the homegrown automaker will launch the much-awaited Mahindra XUV300 sub-4 meter SUV in February 2019. This sub-4 meter SUV will take on the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport. Ahead of the launch, the base variant of the Mahindra XUV300 has been caught on camera. The latest spyshots reveal that even the entry-level XUV300 is equipped with several high-end features.

Even the base variant of the Mahindra XUV300 gets features like LED tail-lamp cluster, 2-DIN audio system, power windows with one touch anti-pinch for the driver side, MID with the instrument console, etc. The base model also gets automatic climate control, USB charging and a tachometer. By loading the entry-level SUV with high-end features, Mahindra aims to attract more buyers. In fact, reports suggest that the company is aiming at aggressive pricing to make it more appealing to young buyers. It is likely to be priced in the range of Rs 7 lakh – Rs 11 lakh. The Mahindra XUV300 will be available in petrol and diesel guise. The petrol version will get a newly developed 1.2-litre turbocharged engine that is reportedly to produce around 135bhp of power. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. A 6-speed AMT gearbox option will be made available on a later stage. The Mahindra XUV300 is based on the SsangYong’s X100 platform that also underpins the Tivoli SUV. In terms of styling, the XUV300 is completely different from the Korean sibling. The company is also working on the electric version of the XUV300, codenamed S210. This electric model will arrive in 2020. Adding to it, Mahindra is also working on the 7-seater version of the XUV300. Likely to be called Mahindra XUV400, the SUV will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and others in its category.
