The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is receiving bookings with an average of 1,000 orders per day.

The new-generation Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has crossed the 7,000 sales mark in the very first month of its arrival in the market. In December 2018, the Indo-Japanese carmaker managed to retail a total of 7,155 units of the MPV as opposed to 4,288 units of December 2017, accounting 67% growth. With an average of 1,000 orders per day, the new Maruti Ertiga received 23,000 bookings in just 5 weeks of its launch. Its arch rival – Mahindra Marazzo registered total sales of 3,206 units.

Compared to the old model, the new Maruti Ertiga looks more evolved and refreshing. While you do get projector headlamps as standard, it loses out on the LED DRLs (daytime running lights). The top-spec trim gets 15-inch alloy wheels, and the lower variants VXI and LXI trims come with 15-inch steel wheels with wheel caps. The MPV also gets boomerang shaped LED taillamps. Read – New Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Vs Old

On the interior though, the new Maruti Ertiga has more features and cabin space to offer as compared to its predecessor. The MPV is now available with a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, reserved for the top-spec trim. It also gets wooden inserts on the dashboard and steering wheel, roof mounted AC vents for the third row, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, central locking and speed sensitive door locks as standard. Read – New Maruti Ertiga To Get A CNG Variant

Under the hood, the new Maruti Ertiga features a new 1.5L K15B SHVS petrol engine that makes 104bhp of peak power and 138Nm of peak torque. The diesel variants continue to use the same old 1.3L Multijet motor that’s good for 89bhp and 200Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic unit (only on the VXi and ZXi trims).
