With an aim to expand its Bonneville range in India, the British motorcycle manufacturer has introduced the new Triumph Bonneville T100 at Rs 7.78 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). At this price, it will take on the Kawasaki Versys 650, Ducati Scrambler and Harley-Davidson Iron 883. This also makes it the most affordable Bonneville in the country. The Triumph Bonneville T100 gets its power from a 900cc ‘high-torque’ engine coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. This liquid-cooled, 8-valve, parallel-twin SOHC motor can produce 54bhp (55PS) at 5,900rpm and 80Nm at 3,230rpm.
Triumph Bonneville T100 India Design
The Triumph Bonneville T100 is based on a new tubular steel, twin-cradle frame, and has a retro appeal. Its design is heavily inspired from the Triumph Bonneville T120. It is claimed to be lighter than the previous generation, and has a shorter wheelbase, trail and rake. The bike offers a low seat height of 790mm, which is quite adequate for all kind of rider. Under the seat, there is a USB charging socket.
The new Bonneville also gets ride-by-wire, anti-lock braking system (ABS) and a switchable traction control system. Its twin-pod LCD instrument cluster has an analouge tachometer, analouge speedometer, fuel gauge, odometre, gear position indicator, two trip meters, and distance to empty readout. The cluster also displays the traction control, average fuel consumption and throttle mode status. Triumph is also offering 150 official accessories with the bike that include leather seats, compact LED indicators, Vance & Hines slip-on-silencers and alternator embellishers.
