The 2016 Triumph Thruxton R is named after the icnonic 500 mile Thruxton edurance race series, and the Triumph motorcycles which broke the first 100mph lap at the Isle of man TT.
The motorcycle derives its power from a new 1200cc 'high power' parallel twin, 8-valve engine with the company's new-generation ride-by-wire fuel-injection system. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox, this engine churns out an impressive 96bhp at 6750rpm and 112Nm at 112Nm. While its maximum power is about 41 per cent higher than the previous model, it's torque is more than 62 per cent higher and that's MASSIVE improvement.
The Thruxton R offers a great handling and agility, thanks to its dedicated chassis and fully updated suspension. The company says that the Thruxton R takes the cafe racer back to its heritage performance roots thanks to the immense power, handling, agility and great styling.
