Yamaha Motor Company has updated its highly popular YZF-R15 V4 motorcycle in the country. The bike receives a new ‘Dark Knight’ colour scheme and the model has been priced at Rs 1.82 lakh. It’s also available in Red, Blue and Intensity White colours, which are priced at Rs 1.81 lakh, Rs 1.82 lakh and Rs 1.86 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom. No other changes have been made to the Yamaha R15 V4 Dark Knight.
The bike comes powered by the 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that’s good enough for 18.4bhp and 14.2Nm. Transmission duties are done by a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch. Its stopping power is derived from the 282mm front disc and 220mm rear disc brakes. The Yamaha R15 V4 gets a dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system). Suspension setup includes a USD fork upfront and monoshock rear.
The overall length, width and height of the Yamaha R15 V4 stand at 1990mm, 725mm and 1135mm respectively. It sits on a 1325mm long wheelbase and has a ground clearance of 170mm. The bike comes with a seat height of 815mm. Some of its key features include bi-functional headlight, LED position lights, side stand engine cut-off switch, fully digital LCD meter console, traction control system, Yamaha Y-Connect app, etc.
Upcoming Yamaha Bikes
The Japanese two-wheeler maker will soon bring back the Yamaha R3 in India along with the Yamaha MT-03. Both models are equipped with 321cc, liquid-cooled engine that makes a top power of 42PS and 29Nm of torque. The bikes have been packed with a 298mm disc upfront and a 202mm rear brake. The suspension setup includes the USD fork and linked monoshock unit. In coming months, the company will also roll out the MT-03 sports naked bike, MT-07 and MT-09 street naked bikes. The Yamaha MT-07 uses a 689cc parallel-twin engine and the Yamaha MT-09 gets a 890cc inline triple-cylinder motor.
