Mahindra XUV700 Electric Testing Begins – All Key Details

Mahindra XUV700 is one of the top-selling SUVs from the home-grown automaker in India. The carmaker had confirmed that it will bring in the electric iteration of the XUV700 towards the end of 2024. In fact, the company showcased the electric SUV in its concept avatar (as Mahindra XUV.e8) last year at an event in UK. The Mahindra XUV700 electric SUV will come under the brand’s new electric-only sub-brand – XUV.e.

The model will be based on the INGLO platform that’s claimed to use a common battery pack design with standardised cell-to-pack technology (for both Blade and Prismatic cell structures). All Mahindra electric SUVs based on the INGLO architecture will have range from 60-80kWh and support a fast charger of 175kW (charge the battery up to 80% in less than 30 minutes). The carmaker claims that the 80kWh battery pack will offer a range of around 435km – 450km under the WLTP cycle.

The Mahindra XUV.e8 SUV concept features a closed-off front grille, bumper-mounted headlamps, full-width LED light bars dropping down into the bumper, a sharply contoured bonnet and angular stance. The rear section, however, appears similar to its ICE-powered counterpart.

The concept of the Mahindra XUV700 electric SUV measures 4740mm in length, 1900mm in width and 1760mm in height with a wheelbase of 2762mm. The electric version of the SUV will be longer, wider, taller and more spacious than its petrol/diesel model.

Mahindra has already revealed that the XUV700 electric will come with the battery pack ranging up to 80kWh and AWD (all-wheel drive) system. Its power will be between 230bhp – 350bhp. It will come with a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function to power external electrical devices. The electric SUV will have front trunk (or frunk) along with the triple screen setup inside the cabin. The display panel will consist of three 1920X720p high resolution 12.3-inch displays and an HUD with augmented navigation.
