Japanese two-wheeler maker, Yamaha has introduced the 2020 Yamaha MT-15 Limited Edition in Thailand. The new limited edition model is priced at 98,500 baht (INR 2.32 lakh), which is similar to the price of the regular MT-15 on sale in Thailand.
Yamaha hasn’t revealed the number of units of the new MT-15 Limited Edition model will be produced. The only difference between the new and the regular MT-15 is the new colour scheme, which is a teal green. The teal green colour is complimented with flourescent yellow wheels and gold andonised forks.
The Yamaha MT-15 Limited Edition is powered by the same 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled SOHC engine with fuel injection and variable valve actuation (VVA). This engine is capable of producing 19bhp of power at 10,000rpm and 14.7Nm of torque at 8,500rpm. In India, this same engine in BS6 form produces 18.4bhp and 13.9Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch.
Suspension mechanism of the bike comprises of non-adjustable upside down front forks and preload-adjustable monoshock at the back. For braking, the motorcycle gets single hydraulic discs on the front and rear. It rides on 17-inch wheels shod with 110/70 and 140/70 tyres at the front and rear respectively. The motorcycle weighs 133kgs and offers a fuel tank of 10.4-litre capacity. It is claimed to offer a seat height of 810mm.
The new Yamaha MT-15 Limited Edition variant is not likely to be launched in the Indian market. The motorcycle will be manufactured in limited numbers.
