Maruti Suzuki had introduced the updated Ignis facelift at the 2020 Auto Expo. The new model comes with cosmetic design changes and upgraded interior. The company had announced to receive over 50,000 bookings till May 16, 2020. In order to further boost sales, Maruti Suzuki has updated the Zeta variants of the Ignis hatchback.
The Maruti Ignis Zeta variant is now equipped with the brand’s SmartPlay infotainment system. The prices of the updated Zeta variant have been increased by Rs 8,500. The Ignis Zeta variant is available in 2 variants – MT and AMT, which now costs Rs 5.98 lakh and Rs 6.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.
The urban car is equipped with a 7-inch SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system, which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This system was previously available only in the Alpha variants. It is powered by a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder VVT petrol engine that is capable of producing 82bhp of power and 113Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit. It is claimed to return a fuel efficiency of 20.89kmpl.
In terms of styling, the Ignis facelift comes with newly styled grille that resembles the one offered with the Jimny and the S-Presso. It comes with all-new front bumper with a faux scuff plate and updated rear bumper. With updated model, the new Ignis facelift gets two new colour schemes – Turquoise Blue and Lucent Orange. The city car also gets multiple dual-tone colour options – Nexa Blue with Silver, Nexa Blue with Black and Lucent Orange with Black.
