Volkswagen has released the first official picture of the interiors of the upcoming Taigun mid-sized SUV, which is scheduled to be launched during festive season. Similar to the exterior, the interior of the Volkswagen Taigun looks similar to the concept unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo.
The Volkswagen Taigun’s SUV’s interior features the clutter-free design. The cabin has flat surfaces and simple switchgears to control functions. It comes with a dual-tone dark and light grey interior scheme. It features a new virtual cockpit instrument console with blue lighting system.
The Volkswagen Taigun’s cabin features a 10.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a newly-styled three-spoke Volkswagen steering wheel and the slim air-con vents. The central console design seems identical to that of the Skoda Kushaq, featuring touch-sensitive climate controls. The SUV gets wireless phone charging pad, glovebox, and leather wrapped steering wheel and gear-lever.
In terms of features, the Volkswagen Taigun gets Type-C USB charging, connected car features, a single-pan electric sunroof, automatic air-conditioning, ventilated front seats, etc. The SUV rides on newly developed 17-inch alloy wheels. The SUV comes equipped with ESC (Electronic Stability Control) as standard. In terms of safety and security, the Taigun gets six airbags, TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), hill-hold function, rear parking camera, front and rear parking sensors, etc.
The Volkswagen Taigun retains the design of the concept. It comes equipped with a prominent front grille with chrome applique, new VW logo at the centre of the grille, LED headlamps with LED DRL, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and LED tail-lamps with a connected bar.
The new Volkswagen Taigun is based on the MQB AO IN platform, which also underpins the Skoda Kushaq. It has a wheelbase of 2,651mm, which is longer than the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos – 2,610mm. The SUV will come with two petrol engine options – a 114bhp, 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol with 6MT & 6AT, and a 147bhp, 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged with 7-speed DSG automatic.
