2 New Kia, MG SUVs Launching Soon – Key Details, Expected Prices

The coming months will surely be super exciting for the SUV enthusiasts as there several new models are ready to it showrooms. Hyundai and Mahindra will foray into the premium 7-seater SUV segment with Alcazar and XUV700 respectively, while the upcoming Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun will challenge Creta and Seltos. Maruti Suzuki has planned to roll out the new-generation Vitara Brezza during this festive season and Tata Motors will bring in the HBX mini SUV by mid 2021.

Kia Motor India is all set to expand its top-selling Seltos model lineup with the addition of the Kia Seltos Gravity Edition. MG Motor India, on the other hand, will introduce the petrol version of the ZS EV – MG Astor.

Talking about the Seltos Gravity Edition, the model will mark debut of the brand’s new logo. It’s likely to be based on the top-end variant and receive cosmetic enhancements over the regular model. Some of its key features will include a bespoke chromed front grille with 3-dimensional design, ORVMs and door garnish with silver finish, new dual-tone 18-inch machined alloys, grey interior theme, high beam assist functions, lane keep assist, forward collision prevention assistance system and rear passenger notification and more.

The Seltos’ new edition is likely to be offered with the existing 113bhp, 1.5L petrol, 113bhp, 1.5L diesel and 138bhp, 1.4L turbo petrol engine options. The Kia Seltos Gravity Edition is slated to launch on 27th April 2021. It’s likely to be priced more premium over the SUV’s top-end variant that costs Rs 17.45 lakh. We expect it to cost near around Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom).

MG ZS Petrol India Launch

The MG Astor has been scheduled to launch in the third quarter of 2021. It’s essentially the petrol iteration of the ZS SUV that’s likely to be offered with the 1.5L, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and 1.3L turbocharged petrol engine options. While the former will make power around 120bhp and 150Nm of torque, the latter will be good for 163bhp and 230Nm. Its turbo-petrol motor will be significantly more powerful than the Creta turbo petrol that makes 138bhp.

The Astor is reported to be the first vehicle in its segment to offer ADAS (advance driver assistance system). It will also be packed with MG iSmart connected car technology, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, a 360 degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, automatic AC unit, cruise control and more. Prices of the MG Astor are estimated to start from Rs 10 lakh for the base variant and go up to Rs 15 lakh for the top-end trim.
