The Indian passenger vehicle industry continues to register positive sales growth in the Indian market. Thanks to the festive season, most of the automakers have registered excellent sales growth in the month of October 2023. In this article, we talk about the sales data of Hyundai, Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra for the month of October 2023.
Hyundai Sales October 2023
Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has registered total sales of 68,728 units in the country in October 2023. Total sales for the month of October 2023 include domestic sales of 55,128 units and export of 13,600 units. The company has reported a domestic YoY (Year-on-Year) sales growth of 14.85 per cent. In the October 2022, Hyundai sold 48,001 vehicles in the domestic market. The export increased by 35.93 percent.
Commenting on the October sales numbers, Mr. Tarun Garg, COO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “As we enter the peak of festive season in India, Hyundai Motor India registered robust sales number of 55 128 units in the domestic market in the month of October. The recent announcement of standardizing of 6 airbags across all Hyundai models and variants has been extremely well received by our valued customers. Also, the supply situation is back to full normalcy and our network is geared up to delight customers with the delivery of their favourite Hyundai cars”.
Tata Motors Sales October 2023
Tata Motors Limited has registered overall sales (Domestic & International Market) of 82,954 units in October 2023, as against 78,335 units in the same period in 2022. Domestic sale of MH & ICV in October 2023, including trucks and buses, stood at 15,211 units, compared to 13,251 units in October 2022. In the international markets, Tata Motors sold 16,048 units of MH&ICV last month as compared to 13,940 units in October 2022.
Tata Motors has sold 48,637 units of passenger vehicles in October 2023 as compared to 45,423 units in October 2022, a positive sales growth of 7 per cent. The total electric vehicle sales stood at 5,465 units in October 2023, compared to 4,277 units in October 2022, a growth of 28 per cent.
Mahindra Sales October 2023
Mahindra & Mahindra has announced that its overall auto sales for the month of October 2023 stood at 80,679 vehicles, reporting a growth of 32%. In the UV segment, Mahindra recorded the highest sales for the fourth consecutive month. In October, the company sold 43,708 vehicles in the domestic market, a growth of 36% and overall, 44,264 vehicles, including exports. The domestic sales for Commercial Vehicles stood at 25,715 units, also the highest-ever.
In the utility vehicle segment, Mahindra reported an impressive year-on-year sales growth of 35 per cent. The company sold 43708 units in October 2023 as against 32298 units in the same month last year.
