Volkswagen Polo Legend Edition – What’s Different?

Volkswagen Polo has finally said Goodbye to India. In order to bit a farewell to the hatchback, the automaker has introduced its special edition called Volkswagen Polo Legend Edition. Based on the GT TSI variant, the limited edition has been priced at Rs 10.25 lakh (ex-showroom). It’s essentially the dealer installed cosmetic kit and only 700 units will be sold across the country. Here’re key updates that have been made to the model.

On the exterior, the new Volkswagen Polo Legend Edition features glossy black roof foil and black trunk garnish.

You can notice the ‘Legend’ decals on the doors, front fender and boot badges. No changes have been made inside the cabin.

Similar to the regular Polo GT TSI, the limited edition comes with a touchscreen infotainment system, power adjustable ORVMs, automatic climate control, multi function steering wheel with leather cover, antilock braking system, multiple airbags, vehicle stability control, and more.

For power, the Volkswagen Polo Legend Edition 1197cc engine delivering power worth 103.25bhp and 175Nm of torque. The motor has DIHC setup and direct injection technology.

If reports are to be believed, the German automaker might bring in the new Volkswagen Polo GTI hot-hatch in India. Though, the model will come via CBU (Completely Built Up) route and available in limited numbers. The hot hatch has been designed on the MQB A0 platform and comes with the 2.0L TSI turbo petrol engine. The motor produces a peak power of 204bhp and accelerates 0 to 100kmph in 6.5 seconds. Transmission duties will be taken care of by a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. It has an electronic differential.

In fresh updates, the company is ready to bring in the all-new Volkswagen Virtus mid-size sedan in the month of May. It will be the brand’s second product to be based on the heavily localized MQB A0 IN architecture. The Virtus will replace the aging Raid sedan in the country.
