Volkswagen India recently showed a teaser picture of its 4 SUVs including VW T-Roc, VW Tiguan All-Space and the two upcoming models. One of the upcoming models is the Volkswagen Taigun that’s slated to launch in the second half of this year and the second model is still a mystery. Both new SUVs will come under the brand’s new SARV2.0TTAM project. If reports are to be believed, the second Volkswagen SUV could be the Atlas Cross Sport with coupe-like design.
– Globally, the new Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport will be offered in eight trims (S, SE, SE w/Tech, SE w/TECh R-Line, SEL, SEL R-Line, SEL Premium and SEL Premium R-Line) and with two petrol engine options.
– While the 2.0L turbocharged petrol unit is good enough for 235bhp and 365Nm of torque, the 3.6L V6 gasoline motor makes 276bhp with 361Nm of torque. All variants come with an 8-speed automatic transmission and AWD (all-wheel-drive) system.
– Measuring below 5 meters in length, the new Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport features an upscale three-bar chrome grille, revised front bumper and subtly sculpted hood at the front end.
– Its other design highlights include a steeply raked rear pillar and rear hatch, new lights and a sculpted rear bumper and chrome accents on the lower body sides, windows and rear bumper. Read – New-Generation Volkswagen Polo Under Development
– The R-Line trims are exclusively offered with more heavily sculpted bumpers with chrome and piano black treatments around the lower front air scoops and 21-inch aluminum alloy wheels.
– Being a flagship model, the new Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport comes packed with several advanced goodies including a 12-speaker Fender Premium audio system, connected car technology, wireless smartphone charging, heated and ventilated front seats and steering wheel, contrast stitching on door inserts and seats and more. – The new Volkswagen SUV also comes with a suite of advanced driver assistance features such as traffic jam assist, forward collision warning with autonomous braking, rear traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control with a stop and go feature, lane keeping assist, park distance control and dynamic road sign display.
One must note that the engine specifications and feature details of the India-spec Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport SUV are yet to be revealed by the carmaker.
