New Hyundai i20 Waiting Period City-Wise Details Revealed

The new-generation Hyundai i20 has been doing really well for the South Korean carmaker in terms of sales. Launched in November last year, the premium hatchback gathered over 35,000 bookings so far. With high booking numbers, its waiting period is rising gradually and has reached up to 3 months in three cities – Surat, Pune and Patna.

The model commands a waiting period of up to 6 to 8 weeks in Gurugram and Ahmedabad. In cities like Delhi, Chennai and Lucknow, buyers have to wait for 4 to 6 weeks. The new i20 has lowest waiting period in Jaipur, Mumbai, Thane and Hyderabad.

Prices of the new Hyundai i20 start from Rs 6.80 lakh for the entry-level Magna petrol variant and go up to Rs 11.18 lakh for the top-end Asta (O) model. The petrol model uses a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated unit that makes 83bhp and 115Nm of torque. The hatchback is also available with a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which is good for 120bhp and 172Nm of torque. The 1.2-litre engine can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. With automatic transmission, the motor produces 88bhp that’s 5bhp more than the manual.

While the 1.0-litre unit comes with the 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox and iMT (clutch-less manual) gearbox options. The 1.5-litre, four-cylinder oil burner produces a peak power of 100bhp, which is borrowed from the Venue. It comes paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox only.

The 1.2-litre petrol engine returns an ARAI claimed mileage of 20.35kmpl with the manual gearbox and 19.65kmpl with the CVT automatic transmission. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol promises 20.25kmpl with the DCT gearbox and 20kmpl with the iMT. The diesel manual delivers a fuel economy of 25.2kmpl.
