Updated MG Gloster Coming In 2024 – Testing Begins

The MG Gloster, introduced in late 2020, has completed three years in the Indian market, and in anticipation of its upcoming facelift, the carmaker has initiated testing of the updated model, slated for a 2024 launch. Although the engine setup is expected to remain unchanged, the 2024 MG Gloster facelift will promise noticeable cosmetic changes and feature upgrades.

Recent spy images reveal newly-designed diamond-cut alloy wheels and updates to the SUV’s rear section, including a new bumper, revised taillamps, a redesigned tailgate, and repositioned reflectors. The front fascia is expected to undergo comprehensive changes, including a redesigned grille, tweaked bumper, and redesigned headlamps.

2024 MG Gloster facelift

While interior details are currently unavailable, expectations include a revised dashboard and new upholstery. The MG Gloster is already feature-packed, offering Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker sound system, a 360-degree parking camera, a powered driver’s seat with heating, ventilation, massage, and memory functions, MG’s i-Smart connected car tech, blind spot monitoring system, paddle shifters, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity, a 6-way manually adjustable driver’s seat, three-zone climate control, traction control, cruise control, 6 airbags, and more. Under the hood, it is expected that the engine options will remain unchanged. The 2024 MG Gloster facelift will likely continue with the same 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine producing 163bhp with 375Nm and the 2.0L twin-turbo diesel engine delivering 218bhp with 480Nm. The twin-turbo diesel variant can be equipped with an on-demand 4WD (four-wheel drive) system with selectable drive modes, and both engines will be paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

In the premium SUV segment, the upcoming Gloster will maintain its competition with rivals such as the Toyota Fortuner and Jeep Meridian. Presently, the Gloster is priced between Rs 38.80 lakh and Rs 43.87 lakh (ex-showroom).
